Road of Muzaffarabad is fine for all types of vehicles ( 140 Km from Islamabad). Pir Chinasi Muzaffarabad travel need a better vehicle due to its elevation and under repair road. Pir Chinasi is 162 km or 4.5 hours from Islamabad.

There are kiosks on the top of the hill. Not sure about food quality though. We brought our own food. There is only one Police guest house there, which is mostly booked (almost). So, the night stay would be in tents. Muzaffarabad city has many hotels for night stay that are clean and nice (beautiful for rest).

You can trek further (4-hours) to Pir Asimaar, another beautiful spot which further leads to Line of Control.

Urs of Pir Chinasi is celebrated every year in months of June and September. Apart from the shrine, there is a military installation there.

We reached Muzzafarabad after 3 and a half hours of journey from Islamabad through Kohala road.
Chakothi Border Line of Control Muzaffarabad
After returning from Pir Chinasi we further went to LOC (Line of Control) from Muzaffarabad (after taking permission from Army). Road to Chakothi border post is along River Jehlum and is in a good condition. That was quite an experience. We saw Chakoti bridge and Indian bunkers.

Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh has recently threatened to send Indian troops across this Chakothi border to capture Muzaffarabad. Like Pakistanis’ are playing patty cake, patty cake on the border!
Things to see in Muzaffarabad Azad Kashmir
At Muzaffarabad city, we saw Domel (confluence of River Jehlum and Neelum) and Red Fort, which protected the river crossing in olden times.
Chak rulers of Kashmir built this to protect from Mughals..A good place to sit enjoy the view of the river. Locally it is known as Rutta Qila. A large portion of the fort was destroyed in the 2005 earthquake.
Pearl Continental Hotel Muzzafarabad is another place ot visit. Beautiful night view of the city.
